There’s been a steady drain of money across the country for years now. Many people don’t realize the impact it has on the economy and how much it hurts families who are in need. That problem is welfare fraud. Now Freedom Daily has a story about Trump taking an unprecedented step to cut down on welfare fraud and make sure the program stays available and viable for those who need it.

The problem of welfare fraud has become very serious. Just recently, for example, a massive food stamp crime-ring was busted in Michigan being run by the brothers Emad Khalil Karaein, Jawad Khalil-Ahmad Karaein, and Khader Khalil Karaein whose Middle Eastern Market let people engage in food stamp fraud in return for money. They racked up $736,000 from EBT and $544,000 from WIC over nine years before being caught and sent to jail.

Now Trump has decided it’s time for welfare reform and making sure those who have public benefits are only those who deserve them.

“Some people are really taking advantage of our system,” Trump explained. “And we are going to be looking very, very strongly therefore at welfare reform.”

“People are taking advantage of the system and then other people aren’t receiving what they really need to live, and we think it’s very unfair to them,” Trump added.

No specific details were revealed of a welfare redo, but Trump made it clear that big changes are coming soon. Tax reform, healthcare and fixing Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) are also on the table. Congress also has to get a spending bill and budget through by December and raise up the country’s borrowing limit.

If government can manage to effectively go after welfare fraud it would be a big step. Even though liberals will whine and lie the truth is it’s a big problem that needs to be dealt with. The truth is that many of Trump’s goals on other issues depend on getting finances together, and tackling those who abuse the social safety net of welfare can be a good step towards that.
